One of the big problems of our time is the polarisation of views that leads to the impossibility of productive political dialogue. Autopropaganda examines how social media platforms, now our main public arenas, foster echo chambers where individuals amplify their own beliefs while dismissing almost all opposing views. Using 28 variations of the Yes, Chad! meme – each visually equal but often ideologically conflicting – the piece highlights the chaotic, contradictory noise that defines today’s discourse, manipulated by those who benefit from division.
