A video art piece, duration 13:21 min, and a text on the wall written in silver leaf, 2026.
Part of Before the Mirror, group exhibition at +359 Gallery, curated by Gergana Minkova.
The video presents a series of diverse contexts, at the centre of each of which flickers a dim light. Inspired by the artist’s grandmother’s private ritual for a quiet morning prayer before the vigil lamp of an Orthodox icon, the light is a changing, yet constant and resilient core. The title inori (祈り) means “prayer” in Japanese, but also suggests a quiet hope and a gesture directed toward something beyond oneself. It refers to the wall inscription prayer is a mirror, emphasising the idea that what we pray for, how, and when, is a reflection of ourselves.
